Chocolate Tasting in Houston: More Than Just Eating Chocolate
People are usually surprised when we tell them our Chocolate Experience isn't really about eating chocolate.
Don't get me wrong—you'll eat plenty of it.
But by the end of the experience, we're hoping you'll never look at chocolate the same way again.
Most people know they like dark chocolate or milk chocolate. Very few know why one bar tastes bright and fruity while another reminds them of roasted coffee or toasted nuts.
That's where we come in.
Whether you're visiting from out of town or you've lived in Houston your whole life, we wanted to create something that lets people experience chocolate the way chocolatiers do.

It Starts Long Before the Bonbons
Before anyone reaches for a truffle, we take a step back.
Chocolate doesn't begin in a mold—it begins on a cacao tree.
During the Chocolate Experience, we'll walk you through how cacao is harvested, fermented, dried, roasted, and transformed into chocolate. Along the way, we'll talk about how every one of those decisions changes the final flavor.
Then comes everyone's favorite part. The tasting.
Instead of handing you one piece of chocolate and calling it a day, we taste four different single-origin chocolates side by side.
It's amazing what happens.
One might remind you of raspberries. Another might taste like toasted almonds or warm brownies. Someone in the group inevitably says, "Wait...I didn't know chocolate could taste like that."
Neither did most of us before we fell in love with this craft.

Then You Get to Play Chocolatier
Once we've tasted chocolate in its purest form, it's time to move into what we do every day.
Bonbons.
You'll sample one of our featured confections before building your own two-piece box from more than 25 handcrafted flavors.
Maybe you're a salted caramel person.
Maybe you're feeling adventurous and try something you've never heard of.
There really isn't a wrong answer. (Although we'll admit we get strangely excited watching people debate flavors for ten minutes.)

Why We Created the Chocolate Experience
When people visit Mostly Chocolate for the first time, they usually walk in looking for dessert.
They leave realizing chocolate has a story.
That's really what this experience is about.
Learning where chocolate comes from.
Understanding why one origin tastes completely different from another.
Seeing how handcrafted bonbons are made.
And hopefully leaving with a new appreciation for something you've probably been eating your whole life.
Whether you're planning a date night, celebrating a birthday, entertaining clients, or just looking for something different to do in Houston, we wanted to create an experience that's equal parts educational, interactive, and delicious. (And yes...you'll probably leave with a few extra chocolates.)
